Q.

Insulin resitannce and weight

Hi doc
I am IR, and on glucophage once a day. Am at weigh less and excersise every day but still do not lose any weight. I am very dispondend and do not know what else to do. Will I have to accept that I will stay overweight for the rest of my life or is there hope ?

I have read that when you are IR it is very difficult to lose weight.
I am also on blood pressure and thyriod medication.

Maybe your exercising is not enough, one must try to get your energy use more than your energy input if you want to loose wait. A discussion with a dietician may be beneficial, sometimes it is something that you do wrong in your diet that may be the problem such as drinking too much fruit juices, etc.
