Q.

Insulin Resistant - Thrombo Phlebitis

How will I know if I' m insulin resistant? Could Thrombo Phlebitis be and indicator? BSI is a mere 3.6, cholestrol 4.9, blood pressure is controlled - taking 80g Micardis and Bayer Cardio Asprin daily.

Insulin resistance may be associated with several other problems, that may also contribute to thrombophlebitis. A a random blood sugar is just an indication of the sugar at that point in time and not of the overall average. A total cholesterol is also not telling the full story as you have several different cholesterol indicators. You can also have genetic predisposing factors to clotting or certain medications can be the reason. I would suggest that you discuss it with your Health Care Provider.
