Q.

High Insulin Levels - Any relation to changed menstruation

I am 38. Pre-diabetic. Drinking Glucophage 2 a day. Recently periods very heavy for a day &  then just about non-existent, fairly regular. Is there any link? Also, would eating incorrectly make me sleepy late afternoon? Does that mean it has progressed to full diabetes?

If your insulin resistance is addressed it may have an effect on ovulation and thus menstruation. Healthy eating is extremely important, especially if you are insulin resistant - so yes incorrect eating habits may have an effect on you. The only way to determine if you are a diabetic will be to do the necessary laboratory glucose tests - discuss this with your doctor.
