education about diabetics

my mothe is 56 years old and has just found out that she is diabetic...how to i educated myself about diabetics?.

Diabetes education should ideally come from a diabetes educator, and if not available, then from your doctor. The diabetes education society is called DESSA(google DESSA), and they should be able to give you the name of an educator closest to you, if your doctor is unable to.
