DRINKS FOR GLUCOSE INTOLERANT

Hi, I have recently been diagnosed as Glucose Intolerant. I am taking Glucophage tablets. My question is, what type of alcohol can a person with GI drink? I have always liked a glass of red wine, on occasion, but it seems to affect me a lot quicker. Thanks

If your blood sugar is controlled - moderation is the key. The best will be to listen to you body - if you don't feel well -reduce the amount. It is known that alcohol - especially huge amounts - can cause low blood sugar, even long after the intake - so it can definitely have an effect on your sugar levels. With GlUcophage there is also an increased risk of lactic acidosis with acute alcohol intoxication.

Everyone will say NO ALCOHOL.
Red wine is the best of all, but 1 a day! Better if you can do without it.
Good luck, it is a hard world out there
