Q.

DIABETES / CHOC CAKE

Hi
My sister has type 2 diabetes, is overweight with numerous other serious problems. She does not adhere to a suitable diet and insists that vanilla cake (when served at the office) is bad for her, but chocolate cake does not affect her sugar levels because of the cocoa. We all get silent at such statements.
Your comment please.
Thanks
Lynda

Dear Lynda

It sounds like your sister desperately needs a good dietician to advise her regarding appropriate foods. If chocolate cake made no difference to sugar levels, then all my patients would be ecstatic.
