Good day,

I am a female of 34 years, don''t smoke, hardly ever drink alcohol. My feet pain all the time, no matter what time of day or what type of shoes I wear, it has now started in my legs as well very very painful. My mouth is dry dry in such a way that it came to my attention that my mouth stays dry for a few days on end already. What can this be?

Dear Mariska
Symptoms of diabetes include tiredness, increased thirst and passing of urine, and occasional blurred vision. Weight loss can sometimes occur. Pains in legs if they do occur would be due to cramps secondary to low magnesium or ‘pins and needles’ secondary to nerve dysfunction. To rule out diabetes I suggest doing a fasting glucose test with your doctor.
