Confused on what to eat for Insulin Resistance

Hi Doc,
I have been diagnosed with Insulin Resitance and been researching on the net, now i am totally confused. Some sites tell you that low carb high protien are the way to go and others say a Low GI plan is the answer.. I have been put on a Low GI Diet but still want to know which is better, to cut out all starches like bread, pasta and cereal and fill up on fruit and vege or to eat the low gi starchy products with the low fat protein.

You are correct that there are different views. The most important is to have a healthy diet that is sustainable for you to continue with. In both the suggested diets there may be some merits for specific patients, but for some patients it may be problematic. I would recommend that you discuss it with your Health care team as they understand your situation and can give you the best advice.
