burning tongue

i am 42 . were diagnosed with compression of the medulla oblongata while back. but suddenly have this burning tip of tongue and around the edge. my gp do not see anything wrong with tongue. do you think it can be the neuralgia? or must i test for diabetes. sometimes when you have different neuralgia symptoms you do not really know if something else is wrong and you always between fires.. please give advise how to go about obtaining the right info. in total what type of dr must i see to look thorougly to all the different components that can be affected. Endo or physician

I don’t think that your symptoms are from diabetes. I would suggest seeing a neurologist, as your symptoms may neurological and could be related to your underlying condition(compressed medulla oblongata).
