Q.

Am I diabetic?

Lately I have been having dizzy spells especially after eating sweets. I stay hungry. Keep picking up weight. Stay tired. Sleeping alot. Normally I don''t sleep. Usually suffer from Insommia. Feeling very irratated. I started monitoring my blood sugar today. Trying to eat less.

6 Cups of coffee with low fat milk, no sugar for the day
Breakfast: 2 Slices of Low GI bread, toasted with cheese
Snack: Pear,
Lunch: small serving of Pumpkin and baby carrots,
Afternoon: 2 slices of Toast again,
Dinner: Pork Potjie with rice.

This is what I ate today.

Sugar level: 14h20 - 6.4
Before dinner 18h00 - 5.2

I dont know if it is my sugar or what it is?

Symptoms of diabetes include tiredness, increased thirst and passing of urine, and occasional blurred vision. Normal glucose levels run less than 6.1 when taken fasting in the morning according to local guidelines, and less than 7.8 during the day, so your levels would be fine. Low glucose levels are less than 4.To rule out diabetes you can do a fasting test with your GP, but I suspect that diabetes it is not the cause of your symptoms, so you will need your GP to look for other causes.

Don''t you have low bloodpressure? I know I get low bloodpressure if I get to much sweet stuff or not eating.
I get the same symptoms. Dizzy spells, sometimes my heartrate go up, feeling very tired,

Also to much bread also play havoc with me.

Your sugar reading seems to be fine. Maybe you could cut back on the sweets if you are trying to loose weight. Good luck :-)
