Am I diabetic?

I have lost 6kg''s over the past year, although I have a very healthy appetite. Suffering from fatigue, drowsiness and all over tiredness, I went to consult my doctor last week. I also had my eyes tested as I have blurred vision at times, especially after consuming high volumes of sugar of alcoholic drinks. I also get bladder and vaginal infections for the first time in my life (I am 54) and have a dry mouth and an extremely dry and itchy skin, especially over my abdomen and sides under my arms. My doctor had a blood test done of which the results are apparently normal.
- B-HbA1c (DCCT) 6.9 %
>  B-HBA1C (IFCC) 52 mmol/mol
>  Estimated Average Glucose 8.4 mmol/L
Please advise me what else can cause these symptoms. I also just need to mention that if I drink something like ensure, I really become sick - nausea, sleepy, shortness of breath and start sweating!Just one more thing, I am 1.67m and weigh 42kg. Thank you so much! I am really so tired of loosing weight and feeling this way.

Dear Wilma Brits
Your symptoms can be compatible with diabetes. Your blood tests are not normal as the HbA1c is 6.9%. Currently we would use a cut-off of 6.5% to diagnose diabetes. I don’t see a fasting glucose level, and therefore would suggest having one done with a repeat HbA1c.
