Q.

What is the required effective use of glucophase?

Newly diagnosed with type I was prescribed glucophase. I need to take 3 tablets at night only after meal. Is this the normal treatment for newly diagnosed. Sugar varies from 10 to 14.

Hi

If you are a type 1 diabetic, then metformin wouldn't be a usual choice, but if you are type 2, then it would be a good choice, as metformin lowers the glucose levels without dropping them too low. The aim is to get you fasting reading below 6
