Parkinson's disease (PD) is a degenerative disorder of motor systems in the brain. PD characteristically presents with a slowing of movements (bradykinesia), rigidity and a resting tremor.
Approximately 40% of people with PD demonstrate cognitive impairment. The movement disorders of PD respond to treatment with levodopa.
