Does HPV cause cervical cancer?

Infection with certain types of HPV is the major cause of cervical cancer. Almost all women will have HPV infection at some point but very few will develop into cervical cancer. Only HPV infections that don't go away can lead to cervical cancer. - (Health24, August 2011)
