Dear Maddenia. Thank you for contacting Health24. Swollen neck glands
are often seen in children. When the swollen glands are on one side of the
neck, it often is a sign of a bacterial throat infection, however, if the
swollen glands are on both sides of the neck (and usually the same size on both
sides) this is often a sign of a viral throat infection. You should, however,
make an appointment with your doctor so that the cause can be determined and
the correct treatment given so that he can be completely healthy and can
fully concentrate on his school work. (MCH).
