Breast reconstruction does not compromise adequate cancer treatment. Immediate reconstruction does not alter local recurrence rate/disease free survival. Reconstructions do not interfere with treatment of systemic disease. Immediate reconstruction does not interfere with detection of local recurrence. The need for postoperative chemotherapy is not a contraindication to immediate reconstruction.
