Q.

Daughter diagnosed with lupus.

Her physician ( based in Cape Town ) has started administering treatment and is attempting to balance the medication ( cortisone and trepoline ) in order to bring relief. Unfortunately this is a long term approach and does not afford my daughter much relief as she suffers severe back pain , migraines and constant fatigue. Are there any other types of treatment available ( natural ) which could bring relief ? Is there a cure for lupus ?

It sounds as if the pain is more likely due to Fibromyalgia rather than lupus.

If the pain is due to lupus, Plasmaquine (chloroquine) works very well.
Unfortunately there is no cure for lupus.
The back pain may be due to fibrositis around the hip with referred pain to the spine and she may benefit from cortisone injection around the trochanteric bursa at the hip.
There are no natural treatments for lupus.
