Worried about 7y girl slight fits

Dear Doctor.
hanks for reading my letter. we have a 7year old daughter she is in grade1. Healthy, very good in school, top 3 in her class. intelectual OK bulds 200 piece puzzle''s and live in a loveable enviroment. We noticed the last three weeks she has a problem when going to bed, she can not get to sleep. She keep on turning around and then starts crying, untill we let her sleep on our bed then she fall asleep. We also noticed that she can not sit still, always slightly pulling her face on leg or arm and last night it was the worst ever when she was laying in bed it was like contractions and her breathing hard whith muscles pulling.
as she fell asleep everything back to normal all ok. when she woke up this morning, the body starts to pull muscles slightly what we can note. We asked her about it and she tried to hide it from us but we told her we see that something is not ok and we want to help her and she should not worry.

Please can you give us advice or direct us to someone who can help or diagnose her. We stay in Parow, western Cape.

Many thanks

Dear Dirk,

As this is not likely linked to ADHD I am unable to provide much assistance. I would suggest contacting a pediatric neurologist in your area. Your nearest hospital should have one, alternatively, you can ask your GP for a referral.

Kind regards,
Delia
