Q.

toddler spitting

I want to know if a three year old boy has ADD because he is very anti-social, spits at family and strangers, yells, hits out in extreme anger for no apparent reason.
He is very difficult to manage and acts very nastily and very moody.
Should he be checked by a paediatrician or psycologist?

Dear Leila,

Diagnosing such a little one is not ideal. It is important to remember that at this young age they do not have the verbal skills to explain what they may be feeling.

I would suggest speaking with your paediatrician first to rule out any allergies or lack/over presence of certain minerals.

Thereafter, if need be a psychologist can be consulted, preferably who makes us of behaviour modification techniques to assist you to better cope with your son's behaviours.

Kind regards,
Delia
