Good morning. My son, aged 7, is in grade 1 and his teachers picked up the problem that he has difficulty in concentration. I tried every route, over the counter meds, homeopathy, all of it. Then succumbed and went to the Dr who prescribed Concerta. Well what a remarkable difference in my boy. He is doing very well. My question is ''Can I give him 1 tablet every second day as opposed to 1 every day? This is because my medical aid doen not cover the cost and I find it very expensive. So will having 1 every second day be beneficial to him at all? Thank you

Dear Dee,

As I am not a medical doctor I cannot advise on this matter; however, as Concerta has a 12 hour efficacy factor, it seems logical that it would not have an effect on the second day.

Please raise your query with the prescribing physician.

Kind regards,
