Q.

ME

I am 23 years old and I' ve had ADD my whole life. And I love it. I get bored quickly, yes, but can entertain myself with my thoughts. I did give my parents a horrible times, especially in my teens. And I think what got all of us through it was that my parents did not fuss about it. Discipline, a bit of labour and a wipping (they thought I was just being naughty), controlled it. I live with it everyday without medication. Yes, it is hard and very difficult. I had depression as well, tried to kill myself, got a bit Goth. I was a nightmare child. Just keep your child in line and older people, get a grip on your life. You are in charge of your life and you don' t need to be unhappy. Being ADD can spice up your life and make it fun. You just have to work at seeing the good stuff and not the bad stuff all the time.

Well said ME - and here is a bit of info for those parents worried about what they think are nasty drugs they are been told to give their kids:

Most children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, if untreated, eventually develop Oppositional Defiant Disorder because of daily negative feedback and punishment from adults, as a consequence of their impulsive behaviors.
