Dear Cindy,
Hyperactivity tends to have a very negative connotation, but yes, s/he could be hyperactive. Some people have so much energy and they do not use it all up in the day so they need far less sleep to recover what has been spent. Try to keep your toddler as active as possible during the day, allow him/her to be outside playing on a mini jungle gym, running around. If you can get him/her involved in a play group or swimming lessons or playball etc, this will help your little one to use more energy during the day and sleep longer at night. It may also be worthwhile informing your paediatrician of his/her activity level now so it can be monitored as s/he develops.
Kind regards,
