Dear Sarah,

Caffeine is a stimulant that increases activity levels; Concerta is also a stimulant but increases concentration. The one counteracts the other.

When diagnosed with ADHD all sugars and caffeine should be reduced as these increase activity levels thereby reducing concentration ability.

Please remember that any treatment plan should be holistic; even if taking medication one should always try to follow the correct eating plan, get plenty of exercise and make changes to your working environment to assist one's concentration.

Kind regards,
Delia
