Adult ADHD

Hi there,

I think I might be suffering from adult HDHD what do I do if I want to get checked what type of doc do I have to see? I have most of the symptoms but I have a lot of bipolar symptoms too... so I am not sure... and it seems to be getting worse as I am getting older (I am 28)

Thank you! :o)

Dear Coco,

A psychologist, psychiatrist and some neurologists can make a diagnosis of ADHD. Which one you decide on depends on your treatment preferences: if you are open to trying medication the psychiatrist and neurologist would be the way to go; if you would rather avoid medication, the psychologist is the way to go.

You can contact ADHASA at www.adhasa.co.za/(011) 888 7655 for a specialist in your area or ask your GP for a refferral.

Kind regards,
Delia
