ADHD and the correct JUICE

I need some clarity regarding the preservatives that a child with ADHD mustn' t take, specifically in fluids like Juice.

The normal 100% fruit juice does have preservatives so it is confusing to determine what type of juice if any I should give to the child.

Please let me know if there is a specific juice that the child must take to help with his concentration level.

Thanks and regards,

Dear Nokuthula,
Although it is widely accepted that cutting out preservatives and colourants can reduce hyperactivity, cutting them out completely is not always possible. Fresh fruit juices are the better alternative than concentrates such as Oros or Lecol. Although eliminating them altogether is ideal, limiting them to your best ability may help you keep your sanity. Try to limit colourants (such as Sunset yellow (E110), Quinoline yellow (E104), Carmoisine (E122), Allura red (E129), Tartrazine (E102) and Ponceau (E124)) and preservatives such as sodium benzoate.
Kind regards,
Delia
