Q.

ADDvance

HI

My 8 year old daughter has been on ADDvance for 7 weeks. I haven''t seen any results yet, neither has her teacher. Do you have an opinion on ADDvance, am I wasting my money or should I persist for another month?

Thank you

Dear Gene,

Usually these products can take up to 3 months before any benefits are seen. I personally have not sen a 'major change' in children who have taken ADDvance over a prolonged period; there have been slight improvements in concentration. Without knowing your daughter's level of difficulty it is not possible to state how much improvement there may be. Perhaps try it for another 5 weeks and then make a decision.

I wish I could offer more concrete information.

Best wishes,
Delia

Dearn Gene,
I tried it too, didnt work for my son, but yes, these type of products do take aprox. 3 months to have some form of effect. Just some other tips that evidently makes a difference in my son''s behaviour is to cut out on biscuits, mix juices, sweets and chocolates. Things like Coke and Cream Soda etc. also causes hyperactivity. Google and see what type of foods etc. are not good for ADD sufferers. Just by avoiding the intake of these type of products can make a very big difference. Keep a good routine for your child. Make sure that your daughter has a " clean"  study /homework area where there are no distractions. Dont even keep a stationery holder on it. These type of kids get easily distracted. If your child is hyper too, give her an outlet by encouriging sport activities at school and home. We buying a bigger town house with a bigger garden where our son can move around in more and have space to run off his energy. These kids are special and we need to give them the special attention they need.

Im just a mom with a 7 year old (turning 8) who can relate to what you going through. Its not easy, but never loose hope and always try something new should plan A not succeed, try plan B and C later. Just give it some time and see howit goes.

All the best
Han
