Q.

ADD ???

My seun is hierdie jaar 17.

My seun is ''n stil rustige kind met mooi maniere.

Dokter is welkom om my in engels terug te antwoord (my tenses is nie baie goed nie) :-)

Dear Charnet,

ADHD can manifest itself in either the hyperactive type behaviours or the daydreaming type or as a combination of the two. From what you have mentioned, if it is ADHD, it sounds as though it is more the inattentive type.

If you would like to obtain a diagnosis this can be made by a neurologist, psychiatrist or psychologist. I suggest making an appointment without disclosing immediately that you suspect ADHD to prevent any "tunnel vision" and ensures you obtain an unbiased diagnosis.

Your GP should be able to refer you appropriately.

Best wishes,
Delia
