Makeover from outdoor and adventure event specialists Advendurance. The immensely popular SA Duathlon Series sponsored by DSM and Momentum Health will be relaunched as the Momentum Health OatWell Dual Cross Series, powered by PeptoPro, and will combine the best of both mountain biking and trail running worlds.
The biggest changes are that in 2014, all 4 events will be off-road, and located within an hour's drive from Johannesburg and Pretoria.
Known for their expert management of events ranging from the world's largest marathon mountain biking series to South Africa's largest obstacle course race, Advendurance's involvement bodes well for the growth of the Momentum Health OatWell Dual Cross Series.
According to Fritz Pienaar from Advendurance, the logic is to establish the series in Gauteng before expanding to other provinces. "The event will have various categories and disciplines to cater for the whole family,” said Pienaar. “We will also provide child minding facilities, so parents can focus on enjoying the world-class trails we have prepared for them.”
The first event will take place on 26 July and entries will open on the 1st of April, with only 1500 entries available. The first 1000 entrants will receive a high quality Columbia shirt for free.
Over the years, DSM have linked various of their products to the event, including iFlex, MEG3 and PeptoPro. “I have great confidence in Advendurance and they have selected awesome new venues that will certainly put a smile on every participant’s face. I would advise people to get their entries in early as these four events will most likely be sold out quickly”, says Damian McHugh from Momentum Health.
