Male cyclists, take note: you should wear padded shorts!
The Times of London reports that of 45 bicyclists examined, all but two suffered problems such as cysts and stone-like calcifications. Repeated minor trauma against the bike's saddle is to blame, although sports doctors appear to have underestimated how much trauma avid cyclists endure.
They recommend using padded bicycling shorts, an ergonomically designed saddle or investing in a bicycle with a shock-absorbing frame.
It is advised that mountain bikes are probably a poor choice for many people who only ride on paved streets. It’s also advises how to select a bicycle that is fitted for your own physical and riding needs.
