Limited doses of alcohol can cause a rapid increase in testosterone concentrations in the plasma and brains of rodents, new research has found.
The findings, published in the January issue of Alcoholism: Clinical and Experimental Research, offer evidence that there may be individual differences in behavioural reactions to alcohol. Most previous research has found that alcohol inhibits the secretion of testosterone in male humans and animals.
