Six people collapsed or fainted during extreme heat in KwaZulu-Natal on Tuesday, paramedics said.
“For reasons of patient confidentiality, specific incidents cannot be discussed. What is noteworthy is that three of the incidents saw paramedics responding to old age homes in the major centres,” said Netcare 911 spokesman Jeff Wicks.
He said medics had responded to a school where a pupil had collapsed while taking part in the physical education class.
Wicks said patients were attended to by the paramedics and were transported to hospital. (Sapa/ September 2010)
