Stressed out? Don't buckle under the pressure. Rather eat the right foods so that your body is able to cope better with the stress. And remember to get enough sleep, to relax, and to exercise frequently.
Take action:
Drink chamomile, lemon, lavender and Valerian tea with a teaspoon of honey to reduce your stress levels; eat calming foods that contain tryptophan such as unrefined carbohydrates and bananas; if you need instant energy, eat small amounts of food with a high GI value (e.g. maize porridge, sweets, brown, white or whole-wheat bread, potatoes and corn flakes); don't skip meals; and stay away from high-GI foods, except if your energy levels are so low that you need instant energy.
