Check your pets' teeth

Oral disease is the number one health problem vets diagnose in adult dogs and cats. Unfortunately, your pet can't tell you when it has toothache. For this reason, it's important to keep an eye on your pet's teeth, keep them clean and to get professional help as soon as you note one or more of the symptoms listed below.

Symptoms to look out for: bad breath; red and swollen gums; a yellow-brown crust of tartar around the gum line; pain or bleeding when you touch the gums or mouth; a change in eating or chewing habits; pawing at the face or mouth; or listlessness.
