As you wrap up warm this winter, keep your geyser cosy too with a geyser blanket.
Geyser blankets, which are available from hardware and department stores, only cost a few hundred rand. You'll easily recoup the cost in lower electricity bills.
Hot water is your home's biggest energy-gobbler year-round, and a geyser that's well-insulated with a properly installed geyser blanket won't have to use as much energy to heat up.
Insulate the hot water pipe leading from the geyser too for good measure.
