Emergency Contraceptive pills in South Africa

There are only two basic types of emergency contraceptive pills in South Africa.

One is Norlevo, where a dose consists of one tablet that contains 0.75 mg of levonorgestrel. The other is Ovral, an old-style high-oestrogen contraceptive tablet, where two tablets are taken twice twelve hours apart. Ovral and E-Gen-C contains 50 micrograms of ethinyl estriadol and 0,25 –0,50 mg levonorgestrel.
