Colour yourself fit with Virgin Active

Many gym members have noticed that the group exercise classes they take are doing little to shed those extra kilos or meet their other goals.

Many gym members have noticed that the group exercise classes they take are doing little to shed those extra kilos or meet their other goals.

In a bid to make their members’ experience more rewarding, Virgin Active has developed an exciting approach to group exercise training called Colour Me Fit.

What is it?

Colour Me Fit was developed by Virgin Active’s fitness team to specifically meet the goals the member is hoping to achieve through group exercise. From October 2010, the club workout schedules will feature easy reference colour-coded categories to identify the classes addressing weight loss, toning or relaxation.

How does it work?

The colours will assist members in selecting the right combination of classes they would like to take. The colour-codes are as follows:

  • Orange for body: for members wishing to strengthen, tone and condition their bodies;
  • Red for aerobics: for members wanting to work out the heart, lungs and hoping to burn off kilojoules;
  • Yellow for relaxation: for members wanting to improve their posture, flexibility and wanting to de-stress.

Once members have identified their goals, they are able to create their own timetable for the week by identifying the most suitable class by its colour on the schedule.

Blank timetables will be available to members whereby they will be able to list the type of class or find the instructor’s class they would prefer to take at the most suitable time on the different days. For example, should a member’s goal be weight loss with toning, at a glance they can easily identify the red or orange classes they need to do to reach these goals.

Once they have identified the colour they would like to focus on that day, they then select the time they would like to work out thereby narrowing it down to the most suitable class.

By simply selecting the right classes and following a healthy eating plan, members will be able to see an increase in results.

Colour Me Fit will launch nationally on 11 October 2010. Virgin Active will review the schedule every three months to ensure members do not become bored with their current workout routines.
