Are you exercising to excess?

Are you training for a marathon or another endurance event? If you train hard every day, perhaps for several hours, and allow no time for recuperation, you're probably overdoing things. Know the signs of overtraining.

Take action:
If you experience any of the following, you should take things a bit slower: dwindling enthusiasm for working out; increases in resting heart rate and resting blood pressure; muscle or joint soreness that won't go away; increased incidence of colds and infection; a decrease in appetite and weight; disturbed sleep; and increased irritability, anxiety or depression.
