Yellow fever vaccine

I am trying to fall pregnant, and we are planning a holiday to Zanzibar in December, for which I need a yellow fever vaccine. Should I get vaccinated now?
How soon after can I try to fall pregnant?
Should I avoid going there all together?

This is a very common problem!

Yellow fever vaccine is a live vaccine and theoretically should not be given in early pregnancy but it is never a reason to terminate the pregnancy. Get vaccinated in September as there are almost no stocks in the Travel Clinics of the YF vaccine at present which should be back in stock by the end of August.

Enjoy Zanzibar!
