wound from bullet

My brother was shot in the leg but the bullet did not hit the bone, only the muscle. It’ s been 2 months but he is on crutches and is unable to “ put”  down the foot so he has not tried walking on it and says it’ s painful. An x ray was done to make sure there is no bullet. He has been to a GP and physio but it is not getting better. What would you recommend he does now? Thanks

Dear Leonora
Physio should help him if there was muscle damage. Also remember that this was a traumatic experience and he may need councelling too (if he does not already see someone). Sometimes the psychological effects can hamper the physical well-being. He probaly needs to make more of an effort to start putting pressure on the foot and the longer he waits the longer it will take to heal.
