Firstly I think it will be a good idea to see a physician, as I think there are a few conditions that may need to be excluded. However, your own GP can start off with basic tests like UKE (kidney function), FBC and diff ( blood count to exclude underlying infection), ESR (to check for auto immune diseases/inflammatory conditions), and Calcium levels. You may have fibrositis with trigger points in the back, so a physiotherapy evaluation may be worth while. Certain medications may cause similar symptoms, most commonly the anti cholesterol medications and ACE inhibitor blood pressure medications. Start at your GP and ask her to refer you to a physician as soon as possible.
And what is your work going to do if you can't work due to the symptoms being neglected? Don't let work prevent you from looking after your health.
