Dear Mary
Wholemeal indicates that wheat has been ground, but not sifted, so it would be closer to wholewheat bread than brown bread. The seed breads usually also contain wholemeal flour plus a variety of seeds and ingredients like soy meal to lower the GI. Rye breads can contain various percentages of wheat flour or be baked with 100% rye flour.
