white bumps

Hi Doc
I once heard or read that the little white bumps (that look a bit like tiny pimples but aren' t) that you get on your face, especially around the eye area are an indication of high cholesterol. Is this true as I have been seeing quite a few of them around my eyes lately, and if not, what causes it?

Dear Sash
Small white spots can be blocked oil glands called whiteheads. High cholesterol causes bigger yellowish plaques called xanthomas on the eyelids
