Whats the chances??

I am 27 years old and have been sterilised for 3 years (clamps on tubes). It was a very stupid thing to have done at such a young age but i was in different life circumstances and it seemed right at the time. I am now married to a wonderful man who wants to have children one day. The last gynae i went to said he could do an operation where he cuts the clamps off and rejoins the tubes and then I'd have to try fall pregnant right away because the scar tissue will eventually close the tubes. Is this really an option and what are the chances of it being successful and how long will i have before the tubes are closed??

This is an option, but the success rate is only about 30%.
