What is normal iron count?

My doctor recently told me I have an iron deficiency. My iron count is 7.4. What is a normal iron count? And what is a dangerously low iron count?
(My HB levels are normal).

Hallo KS
It is normally around 10-30 micromol/litre. See http://www.health24.com/medical/Head2Toe/777-778-779,12341.asp
It is dangerous if your iron is so low that you develop a low HB and low red blood cell count
