weight loss

41 yrs old, female, 165cm height, 79kgs - need to lose 10kgs in the next 7 weeks - do I follow a 1200 calorie diet plan of somesort - walk for exercise 3 times a week.

According to your details that you have provided your present BMI = 29, which is in the overweight category. If you reduce your weight down to 69 kg then your BMI will equal 25,4 which is just above the upper level of the normal range (18-25), which would be excellent. You can either use a 1500 kcal diet or try eating an energy-reduced, low-fat, high-fibre diet (click on 'DietnFood' at the top of this page, then on 'Healthy Diets' and then on 'Slimming Diet' for a copy of such a diet). Try to increase your exercise to 30 min a day to stimulate your metabolism and promote weightloss. With this type of regimen you should lose about 1 kg per week, thus 7 kg in 7 weeks. 10 kg is a bit much in the period you mention, but you may achieve this if you push up your exercise performance considerably.
