Water Retension from Mosquito Bites

Hi,

A friend and I are based in Kisumu, Kenya and have taken our malaria meds and are still doing so. We' ve been bitten countless times by mosquito' s and once scratched the wound/ swelling/ bite starts to retain water. Are you able to explain this please? And let us know if this should be of a concern to us?

Many Thanks

Dear Ricky

Thank you for visiting health24.com.

You should not be concerned, unless the raised area becomes secondary infected. It is common that a blister forms after scratching an area of inflammation of the skin.

Kind regards
