Water burn

I need to know if whether a burnt patient'  s skin will have effects after burning from water after getting treatment from the hospital and/or clinic(in other words, will there be life time burnt scars)? and if so, what can it be treated with? and also how does it take for a patient to heal in such cases?

Dear KB
It depends on how bad the burn is - if it is deep there may be loss of skin colour and some scar formation. There is not much one can do about the scarring except maybe skin transplantation. Healing will depend on the size, depth of the injury and if the patient develops infection or not.
