Volar Wrist Ganglion

Hello Doc!

We were at the doctors on Saturday, actually for my baby, so did not want to distract him to much with me.
I asked him to look at my wrist and just tell me if I must come back for a full consultation.
He concluded that it is a ganglion and I should only have it removed if it is REALLY bothering me. But they will try tablets for inflamtion first.

Thing is, it is not sore, just irritating!!
But I suppose I could learn to live with it!
But was just wondering why it forms?
And what I can do about it??

Thank you SO much!

Hallo Zee01
a ganglion is a weak spot in the sheath of the tendon. Because it is filled with fluid, any activitity can cause bulging or ballooning of the weak spot causing the lump. See http://www.eatonhand.com/hw/hw013.htm
