Hi Sharon
Fleas can be a big problem. Here are some tips:
Get a good quality dip/spray/topspot from your vet or chemist (e.g. Frontline or Advantage), but make sure you get the correct one for her size, age and weight or you could poison her. These are better than the flea shampoos that are available. Follow the instructions carefully on the package. You will have to repeat this about once a month for a few months at least, if not forever. At the same time you can also try Capstar tablets, which kill all fleas on your dog for 36 hours, or Program tablets, which stop fleas breeding for about a month.
Fumigate your house with Doom Fogger or something similar to get rid of the fleas in your floors and furniture. It's best to do it overnight and stay at a friend for the night, with your animals. You may have to do this more than once and then again in a year's time, as flea eggs can survive anything and then hatch the next season.
Vacuum your mattress and pillows regularly as well as washing the bedding.
Discourage your dog from sleeping in your bed. Give him his own blanket on the floor, which you must wash regularly.
