vitamins

Good day, I am 25years old and have just started taking a multivitamin - Ciplaton. My friends suggest taking other supplements, such as calcium and omega 3 and 6 - please can you advise as to what supplements, if any, i should be taking on a daily basis.

Thank you!

Hallo Tamsyn
The best supplement to take is a healthy diet with enough fruit and vegetables daily, fish 2 times a week and daily dairy products! Vitamins out of a bottle are the second best. If you feel that you can't eat a healthy diet due to time, finances or other factors, a multivitamin with omega 3 will be enough (most good multivitamins also contain calcium and other minerals - check on the bottle)If you are near menopause, extra calcium supplement becomes important to prevent osteoporosis. The best preventative measure for osteoporosis in young women is weight bearing exercise like dancing or jogging 30 min 3 x per week.
